Dance Therapy Two

Dance Therapy using Global Music and Dance Styles

Music and rhythm has always touched people’s hearts and souls. This movement and dance therapy approach uses music and dance styles from all over the world to stimulate movement and expression. Salsa, Merenge, Cha-Cha, Irish dance music, African, Middle Eastern, African and South Asian rhythms are used so participants can experience joy, ecstacy and increased mobility. This form of dance therapy can be used for all age groups, all mobility challenged and emotionally challenged individuals. One of these dance therapy sessions were conducted for the Montreal Jewish General Hospital Geriatric Unit where the average age was 80 and all were in wheel chairs. There is no limit to movement and dance, anybody and everybody can do it and benefit from it emotionally, physically and spiritually.
